Mallett (born March 30, 1945) is a theoretical physicist and professor emeritus at the University of Connecticut known for his research into the possibility of time travel using circulating laser beams based on Einstein's general theory of relativity. As the author of Time Traveler: A Scientist's Personal Mission to Make Time Travel a Reality, he has shared his deeply personal story of how his father's early death inspired a lifelong quest to unlock the physics of traveling through time.
