Bryan Sykes (1947–2020) was a professor of human genetics at the University of Oxford recognized for his pioneering use of mitochondrial DNA analysis to trace human ancestry and his later application of rigorous genetic testing to alleged Bigfoot and Yeti samples. As a guest on late-night radio, his best-selling book The Seven Daughters of Eve and his willingness to apply mainstream genetic science to cryptozoological questions made him a uniquely credentialed voice bridging conventional science and the unexplained.
