Dr. Zahi Hawass (born May 28, 1947) is Egypt's most prominent archaeologist and former Minister of State for Antiquities Affairs, recognized as a researcher specializing in ancient Egyptian monuments, tombs, and the ongoing excavations at the Giza plateau.
