Dr. Stuart Hameroff is an anesthesiologist and professor at the University of Arizona recognized for co-developing the "Orchestrated Objective Reduction" (Orch-OR) theory of consciousness with Nobel laureate Sir Roger Penrose, which proposes that quantum computations in neuronal microtubules give rise to conscious awareness.
