Neil deGrasse Tyson (born October 5, 1958) is an astrophysicist, author, and science communicator who serves as the Frederick P. Rose Director of the Hayden Planetarium at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City. As one of the most recognizable scientific voices of his generation, he has brought astrophysics to mainstream audiences through his television series Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey, his podcast StarTalk, and numerous bestselling books including Astrophysics for People in a Hurry.
