Dr. Edgar Mitchell (1930–2016) was an Apollo 14 astronaut, the sixth person to walk on the Moon, and the founder of the Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS), dedicated to the scientific study of consciousness and psychic phenomena. As one of the most credentialed guests in the history of Art Bell's programs, he spoke openly about UFOs, extraterrestrial visitation, and the transcendent experience he had while gazing at Earth from space.
