Penelope Smith is an author and teacher who describes her work as interspecies telepathic communication. Active in the field since the early 1970s, she developed courses on the subject and served as the founding editor of Species Link magazine. Her books present exercises and case accounts intended to help readers interpret what she considers direct mental communication with animals, including experiences around illness and death. On Art Bell's program, Smith explained those methods and responded to listeners' stories; the archive presents the underlying telepathy claim as her stated practice.
