Michael Shermer

Michael Shermer (born September 8, 1954) is a science writer, historian of science, and the founder of The Skeptics Society and Skeptic magazine, recognized as one of America's most prominent public advocates for scientific skepticism and critical thinking. As a guest on late-night radio, his book Why People Believe Weird Things and his willingness to engage directly with believers in the paranormal made him a valued counterpoint and one of the program's most respected skeptical voices.
