Barbara Marx Hubbard (1929–2019) was a visionary futurist, author, and public speaker recognized for her concept of "conscious evolution" - the idea that humanity is at a threshold of self-directed evolutionary transformation. As a guest on late-night radio, her optimistic vision of human potential, documented in books such as Conscious Evolution, and her nomination for Vice President at the 1984 Democratic National Convention established her as one of the most influential positive futurists of the twentieth century.
