September 24, 1995: Canadian UFOs - Linda Moulton Howe | Nanodreams - Elton Elliot
Elton Elliot, author of the anthology NanoDreams, then introduces nanotechnology as the science of building structures atom by atom from the molecular level upward, the reverse of all previous human engineering. He describes applications including self-repairing smart bricks that regulate temperature, molecular machines small enough to travel through capillaries repairing cellular damage, and spacecraft capable of self-healing in transit.
Elliot warns that nanotechnology will fundamentally transform humanity, declaring this the last generation that will be recognizably human. He raises concerns about weaponized nanomachines capable of disassembling targets molecule by molecule, and urges open development to prevent secret military monopolization of the technology.
Key Moments
Lost a dozen cattle since January: Howe sets the scale of the case before playing the farmer's tape: the same Saskatchewan rancher has lost a dozen cattle to mutilation since January and even more in 1994 - the sighting and the killings are not a one-off but a multi-year cluster on his land.
Saskatchewan farmer: greenish saucer at midnight in his pasture: Howe plays tape of the Canadian farmer who, while checking calving cows around midnight last March, heard a tractor-like hum half a mile off, then saw a quarter-mile away a greenish, saucer-shaped object hovering about two to three feet off the ground in his Saskatchewan pasture.
Two reptilian-looking figures, then color-shift takeoff: The farmer describes two figures roughly two-and-a-half to three feet tall with long skinny bodies and longer heads, looking 'like a half dinosaur and half man' - lizard-like or reptilian. After he yelled at them, the craft lifted off, color-shifted from green to orangish-yellow, and slid up just above the tree line like a not-quite-star.
Calf with ears cut off, mother cow mutilated: Months after the sighting, the farmer's family found a calf in another pasture with its ears cut off flush with the head. They returned a day or two later, the calf was gone, and they instead found the mother cow dead - back end mutilated and the jaw stripped of meat with the tongue removed.
