October 15, 1995: Atlantis, Bigfoot Scream - Frank Joseph & Linda Moulton Howe
Frank Joseph, editor of The Ancient American magazine and author of Atlantis in Wisconsin, argues that Atlantis was a volcanic island approximately two hundred miles west of Gibraltar, destroyed in 1198 BC. He connects the simultaneous end of massive prehistoric copper mining in the Great Lakes region, the collapse of the Bronze Age in Europe, and the destruction of Atlantis as evidence of a single interconnected civilization. Joseph describes photographed stone pyramidal structures found twenty to sixty feet underwater in Rock Lake, Wisconsin.
Joseph warns that modern civilization mirrors the Atlantean pattern of technological arrogance and ecological abuse, noting that nuclear detonations in seismically active zones and ionospheric manipulation through projects like HAARP echo the recklessness that destroyed the ancient world.
Key Moments
Carson City man, Redding 1956: incandescent grayish-blue eyes: Howe relays Ted Fraley's account from a 1956 deer-hunt 35 miles east of Redding, California. Around 10 p.m., Fraley's flashlight caught the strangest set of incandescent eyes he'd ever seen - 'almost like they had lights behind them,' grayish-blue and very bright - 60 yards across a meadow, not a deer, not a bear, not a mountain lion.
.30-30 between the eyes, then the trees vibrated: Fraley admits leveling a .30-30 Winchester across the truck hood and squeezing off a round just above the eyes between them. The woods came alive: the bushes boiled, and a scream started low and climbed higher and higher until, he swears, the trees vibrated. He looked over and saw his friend Richard's hair standing straight up on end - the first and last time he ever saw that.
Skip Hombach, Darrington 1989: thing falls 80 feet, stands like a man: Howe presents Skip Hombach's July 1989 case from a mining claim near Darrington, Washington. After hammer-like sounds in the forest, something fell off an 80-foot cliff, smashed through trees, hit a granite-boulder pile, rolled 150 feet downhill and landed at his feet. Hombach, armed only with a .22, fired a shot over its head - whereupon the thing pushed itself up vertically, exactly like a man getting up, turned, looked him in the eye, and walked off down the trail as if he wasn't there.
Tapered black cape of hair, wrinkled face, coal-black eyes: Hombach gives a full physical description of the creature: hair on the back of its head growing into a tapered cape down the middle of its back, about 24 inches long and shiny synthetic-looking black; three-inch hair across the rest of the body; a hair-covered face with ruddy brown skin around deep-wrinkled eyes and across the bridge of the nose; and very deep-set eyes 'just like coal black marbles in its head.'
Atlantis dated to 1198 BC, end of the Bronze Age: Frank Joseph argues that once the Greek figures are scaled down correctly, the destruction of Atlantis dates to 1198 BC - precisely the pivotal moment when the Bronze Age civilizations of the Hittites, Mycenaean Greeks, Troy, and Ramses III's Egypt all collapsed, coinciding with a major volcanic eruption and matching what Plato told us about the final destruction of the island and city of Atlantis.
